The P-51H Mustang first flew on 3 February 1945. 555 examples were completed but it never saw combat. It was found delightful to fly, but some pilots were wary of the lightweight airframe. Photo from a collection of pictures taken in California. Photo from: Iredell County Public Library

This BACC H-250 Tri-Gear is one of only four such Lockheed Lodestar conversions by the Business Air Craft Corp. This one is ex USAAF C-60A 42-56011, RCAF 559 and N67H, and it was converted in March 1966. It still looks good, but it has been parked here since about 2000 and hasn't flown in years.

Oddly, the registration on this Harpoon is painted as NL20P instead of NL20PV. At the time it was part of the Duncan Miller Collection, together with Tracker N7141D (ex US Navy 136636) parked behind and several other aircraft. The Tracker was moved to Carson City, NV in 2014, but the Harpoon was still here by 2020 (by then under the care of the newly-formed Center For Freedom & Flight).

This former US Marine Corps F-4N was stored at AMARC with inventory code 8F120 from September 1983 to March 1993. The Phantom was made airworthy again at Davis Monthan and was flown to Naval Air Depot Cherry Point (NC) in April 1993. Here is was converted to QF-4N 'EW platform'. The aircraft was modified with Electronic Warfare systems (this can be recognized by the vertical stabilo modifications), so it was able to fully evaluate fighters and weapons flown and fired against it. It was, most probably, shot down over the Pacific Missile Test Range by July 2004.

This former US Marine Corps F-4S was converted to QF-4S at NAD Cherry Point from April 1992. It was most probably shot down over the Pacific Missile Test Range by late 2003. This Phantom II belonged to the Naval Weapons Test Squadron Point Mugu (NWTSPM) and was converted from US Marine Corps F-4S to full scale aerial target for the US Navy. This job was done at NAD Cherry Point (NC) from April 1997. The aircraft was first noted operational as F-4S in March 1998). The rear ejection seat was removed and the aircraft was flown several times by a single pilot over the Pacific Missile Test range. Many QF-4S' were shot down, but 104 was scrapped at home base Point Mugu, as one of the last VX-30 Bloudhounds US Navy Phantoms in the Fall of 2004.
