Former RCAF 109152 was one of five retired RCAF CC-109 aircraft parked on the Kelowna Flightcraft ramp in September 2014. Each aircraft had about 15,000 hrs and, while the engines had been removed, they all appeared to be in good condition. I was told that they all had glass cockpits installed just prior to be retired by the RCAF. Due to the difficulty in getting them certified for civilian use and a limited market for CV580/CV5800 freighters, by August 2017, only C-GLWF/109152 survived. It was selected for preservation because it reportedly once transported the Queen during a visit to Canada.

Delivered new to SAS as OY-KPA in April 1956, and Linjeflyg as SE-CCG from November 1969. Operated by Great Lakes from December 1973 until February 1977.

Former Trans Fair aircraft registered in 2018 to Hay River Air Services Ltd. A good assumption would be that the aircraft is owned by Buffalo Joe McBryan, who probably acquired it for its R2800 engines.

North Cariboo's only turbine Convair was first a 440 for Mokawk Airlines in 1958. It was converted to a Dart powered 640 by Spartan Aviation in 1967 and eventually registered in Canada as CF-PWO with Pacific Western Airlines in November 1971. Echo Bay Mines bought the aircraft in 1976 before North Cariboo got it in 1984. It was sold in the USA in 1986 to become N587CA flying freight for several airlines. Exported in 2015 and last seen at Saltillo, Mexico awaiting a new registration.

"Sigurd Viking" on finals to Kastrup as an ocean-going ship sails by on the Kattegat. Operated by SAS from February 1958 until withdrawn at Fornebu in November 1974 and broken up.

We were fortunate to be at Palmer when this spotless Conair Convair 580 arrived at Palmer for the Summer season where it is based for Fire Fighting duties. The colour scheme looks at home with the lovely background scenery of snow-covered mountains.

This was the first of three Convairliners operated by North Cariboo in the '80s. Bought in 1980, it would be joined by another CV440 and a 640. C-GRWW was sold to new operator Canada West Air in May 1986. That airline sold the aircraft in June 1989 as it moved to Convair 640s, but ceased trading in 1990.

Built as a T-29C training aircraft but here modified to VT-29C for VIP transport. The usual 'star and bar' is not worn and it has no USAF titles.

This 1953 Convair was converted to a 580 in 1968. Pictured while owned by Kelowna Flightcraft and operated as Inter City Air for only a few months; the Convairliner went to Time Air in April 1985. Tragically, the aircraft was lost when it broke up in flight flying freight with Canair Cargo on September 18, 1991.
