The Civil Aeronautics Authority at war. 42-71464 and 41-19502, on the right, are two of the three XP-39E aircraft, which had supercharged Allison V-1710 engines. By 1990: TOS USN and upgraded under SWIP. By 1991: VA-176 aboard the USS Forrestal, flying missions in Operation Desert Storm. 1993-1994: VA-85. By 1995 the plane was placed on display at the Richmond, IN airport. 10 Apr 2022: Moved to Veterans Memorial Park, Richmond, IN
