The MiG-29KVP (izd. 9-18) was developed from the MiG-29 (izd. 9-12) and designed specifically for practicing springboard take-off and and arrested recovery for the ground-based "Nitka" facilities as part of the program for the creation of the MiG-29K shipborne fighter. Its arrester hook can be seen clearly in this picture. Blue 18 is preserved with the excellent collection at Monino since August 1995.
