A very clean 228 OCU Phantom taxies out prior to another training sortie.

Wearing the emblem and titles of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) charity, this particular Tucano was the spare display aircraft for the 2013 Airshow Season.

72 Squadron

Oberfeldwebel Karl Hier of I/JG 76 had to land his Bf 109E at Wœrth, Alsace on 22 November 1939. It was test-flown by the French at Orléans - Bricy, then handed over to the RAF on 2 May 1940. In 1942 it was shipped to the USA for testing at Wright Field. Note the faux swastika painted on by the Americans - they liked to dress up captured aircraft and amazingly, even in this stage of the war it was apparently not a safety concern. Special 100 year anniversary Tail, which marks the 100 years of IV Squadron which was formed in 1912 in Farnborough.

Built by BAe at Warton, this is Tornado P06, the sixth prototype of the type. 1976 was the first appearance of a Tornado at a Farnborough display.
