Started out as a fuselage frame built from new wood and original fittings from three aircraft and displayed in 1972 in the newly opened museum. In early 1983 construction of a complete replica commenced. A replica Renault engine was constructed at RAF Cardington Restoration Centre with an original propeller acquired from a garage in Weston-super-Mare. Final fabric covering and rigging completed at Cardington in 1990-91. Delivered to Hendon in 1992 and installed in the Bomber Hall. Moved to the Grahame White Hangar in April 2012.

Z7258 and Z7261 Women of Britain, 'the day before they were presented to No 24 Sqn RAF by the Silver Thimble Fund.' Elsewhere we found that the date of the ceremony was 21 May 1941. Ex G-AFMH and G-AFMJ of Airwork, these Rapides were already used to for military training before they were impressed in July 1940. They were only used as ambulances briefly in 1941.
