This Merlin-powered North Star, seen being serviced at Heathrow North, served TCA from April 1948 until November 1961, initially on Transatlantic routes and later within North America.

After two years of restoration by the guys at Empire Aero Center, this classic airliner looks like she's ready to take on passengers. Arriving at EAC by truck in June 2007 in near derelict condtion, she has undergone a remarkable transformation. Kudo's to the folks at the Museum of Flight and EAC for saving the old girl from the scrapman!

TCA's L1049C CF-TGC taxies towards Heathrow North on arrival from Canada in September 1954. It is still in the original all-metallic finish with no white top and served the airline from April 1954 to March 1962, latterly being updated to L1049G standard.

Built by Victory Aircraft at Malton (Ontario) as Lancaster B.X KB730. Converted to Lancaster XPP freighter for Transatlantic operation by TCA. It wears the wartime-style red/white/blue underlining of its registration. To AP-ACM and crashed at in Pakistan on 1 August 1948. From TCA 60 years ago.

Delivered to TCA in January 1941. Converted to Model 18-08A in January 1942. Sold to Imperial Oil on 1 October 1949. Later to N655KC. Image in flight over the Greater Halifax area with RCN Shearwater visible below the aircraft. Obtained from TCA 60 years ago.
