Delivered to the Netherlands East Indies Air Force as L2-38 in 1942 To KLM West Indies as PJ-AKD in 1944 and returned as BX-238 in 1945. Then to the Netherlands Air Force as T-2 in 1946. Registered as SE-BXR then OH-ETA in 1954, LN-BFS in 1955 and OY-AOV in 1963. Cancelled in 1966 and preserved as L2-38 at Egeskov, Denmark. To the Militaire Luchtvaart Museum - MLM in 1981 and moved to the Nationaal Militair Museum - NMM, Soesterberg in 2014.

This replica was built at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island in New York. It is not on public view but stored in the museum's Storage Building 9.

This B-25J was delivered in 1944 as N5-239 (USAAF serial 44-29032) to the Netherlands East Indies Air Force at Batchelor airfield, near Darwin, Australia, from where it operated over Indonesia during Japanese occupation. After VJ Day, the aircraft moved to Palembang, Sumatra. It was later reserialled M-439 and is seen here carrying 18 Sqn markings which indicates that this picture was taken in 1949. In 1950, the aircraft was transferred to the Indonesian Air Force, retaining its serial. It is now preserved in the Air Force museum at Yogjakarta as "M-443". This C-47 does not have any Dutch service history, in fact being a USAAF machine that was sold to the R Norwegian AF in 1950 and transferred to the R Danish AF in 1956, latterly serialled K-688. On moving to the Militaire Luchtvaart Museum in the early 1980s, it was painted in a smart camouflage scheme with white top to represent R Netherlands AF C-47 X-05. In 2012 it was repainted as seen here, strangely with a serial that was allocated to Indonesian AF C-47 c/n 13344 from 1950. Perhaps that aircraft flew in these marks with the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army AF previously.

Built in 1941, this L.12 was taken up by the Netherlands Navy in 1942 as L2-38 but was soon transferred to the Royal Netherlands Military Flying School in Missouri. In 1944 it was leased to KLM West Indies as PJ-AKD and returned in 1945, next serving the Dutch Communications Flight in London. Back with the Navy in 1946 as T-2 and struck off in 1952, it was subsequently registered in each of the Scandinavian countries becoming SE-BXR, OH-ETA, LN-BFS and OY-AOV. The last was cancelled in 1966 and it was preserved as L2-38 in Denmark. To the Netherlands in 1981 and restored by 2015

This aircraft actually served with the NEIAF as L2-38. It was on display at the MLM as L2-100 as used at Merauke in New Guinea by 120 Sqn in 1944.

There were two Mitchells that carried serial N5-131. The first was ferried across the Pacific by the RAF Ferry Command, arriving on 18 April 1942. The USAAF immediately took it and sent it to Papua New Guinea, where it was flying USAAF missions out of Port Moresby. This photo however shows the second aircraft to carry N5-131. It is ex USAAF 41-12916 (often incorrectly quoted as ex 41-12936), and it served with the NEI-AF as N5-131 from Aug 1942 until Jul 1947, when it was reserialled M-331.
