Built in 1941, this L.12 was taken up by the Netherlands Navy in 1942 as L2-38 but was soon transferred to the Royal Netherlands Military Flying School in Missouri. In 1944 it was leased to KLM West Indies as PJ-AKD and returned in 1945, next serving the Dutch Communications Flight in London. Back with the Navy in 1946 as T-2 and struck off in 1952, it was subsequently registered in each of the Scandinavian countries becoming SE-BXR, OH-ETA, LN-BFS and OY-AOV. The last was cancelled in 1966 and it was preserved as L2-38 in Denmark. To the Netherlands in 1981 and restored by 2015 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
