Such a clever scheme. Aircraft really is XR713 and as such is painted on the other side in the colours of 111 Squadron.

Delivered in Aug 1969 as shown here, with its new serial ٢٠٦ (= 206) on fin and nose, and the old serial 55-713 (still with the dropped Mark number prefix) on the rear fuselage. The Lightning was the last type to use Saudi Arabia's old Mark number prefix system. In the mid 1980s the 21 remaining RSAF Lightnings were acquired by British Aerospace as part of the Tornado F.3 deal. This example was allocated serial ZF598 and flown to Warton, UK on 14 Jan 1986 and stored. It went to the Midland Air Museum on 19 Jan 1989. The Saudi tail and nose markings were added recently (still missing in Jul 2008).

Instructional airframe sold back to Hawker Siddeley and was allotted "B" Class registration G-9-418. XF972 was converted to FGA.80 for the Kenya Air Force as 804 and was delivered to them on 8 December 1974. It subsequently went to the Air Force of Zimbabwe as 1801.
