A truly historic aircraft that returned to the air in September 2011. This was the 557th Spitfire built (of more than 22000) and was crash landed on the beach at Calais on May 23rd 1940 by Flying Officer Peter Cazenove. It is seen taxying out and kicking up the cut grass at Flying Legends 2012

Seen in the restoration hangar at the Imperial War Museum, the CASA 2-111 was essentially a licence built Heinkel He 111, powered by Rolls Royce Merlin engines. This aircraft will be moved to the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge in early 2020 - and where photography is not permitted. It is staggering that a museum open to the public prohibits photography!
