On display at Deutsches Museum München. The F-13 was the world's first metal airliner, built using corrugated duralumin. On Armistice Day, Hugo Junkers ordered a switch from military to commercial aircraft. First flying on 26 June 1919, the F-13 carried four passengers in an enclosed cabin complete with cushioned seats, the first to provide passenger seatbelts, lighting and large windows. The original D-366, c/n 723 was named "Eismöwe" and operated by Deruluft. Due to its size and economy, many airlines started operations with the F-13, of which 322 were built.

V-tail glider built in 1955 by Entwicklungsgemeinschaft Haase-Kensche-Schmetz. Designers Ernst Günter Haase, Heinz Kensche and Fernando Schmetz had earlier built the record-breaking HKS-1 in July 1953. Kensche was an experienced mechanical engineer who worked for the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM) and flight tested the Fieseler Fi-103 Reichenberg in World War II, establishing a sailplane record after the war. Haase was the Open Class World Champion in 1958 held at Leszno, Poland with this 257 kg HKS-3.

On display at Deutsches Museum München. Quest for survivability in a nuclear theatre led the Federal Min. of Defense to want a Mach 2 VTOL fighter. Messerschmitt, Bölkow and Heinkel formed Entwicklungsring Süd (EWR) to make the "Versuchsjaeger" (Research Fighter). The X-1 with wingtip tilt jets first lifted off vertically with American test pilot George Bright on 10 April 1963. This X-2 became the first VTOL aircraft to exceed Mach 1. The project was cancelled in 1968.

Homemade airplane DOWA 81. With this aircraft in 1981,a family of five from the former East Germany proposed to escape. The plane did not fly because the family was arrested the day before the scheduled takeoff. She was sentenced to considerable prison terms for "preparing to cross the border illegally in severe cases". The family was deported to the Federal Republic after one year in prison. Due to the necessary confidentiality, only generally available materials were used for the construction. The aircraft engines came from the GDR
