Looking very smart while serving the 101st FIS Massachusetts ANG (note 'Cape Cod' marks on engine nacelle), this machine was retired to Davis Monthan in 1975 and spent the next couple of decades stored there till bought by Classic Wings Corp, becoming N131CW in 1997. Went on to American Airpower Heritage, flying with the CAF Museum at Camarillo, CA in 11.01. Sold again in 4.09 and seen at Chino in regular USAF marks in 6.16

Carrying the seal of the Bureau of the US Navy at NAF Washington, this was one of two Skywarriors modified for VIP use as UA-3B, although here still marked TA-3B. Later to VAQ-33 'GD', stored at AMARC from 7.90 and scrapped 2008

Five months old when this was taken on a freight run to Andrews. Flew as LV-RRA on lease to Charter Fly for a couple of years from 1992. Still in service with the Armada Argentina till 2017 named 'Malvinas Argentinas' and stored at Ezeiza

The magnificent condition of this HQ DC ANG T-Bird earned her a permanent home nearby in the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy museum at Dulles where she is now displayed

Andrews AFB was home to many interesting prop aircraft in the mid-1970's

Painted as and is ex USAAF 38-0502. The airplane was the first DC-3 type aircraft purchased by the US military.
