The original "Colditz Cock" was built by British prisoners during WWII in the hope of a planned escape from Colditz castle. The original "Colditz Cock" never saw its maiden flight, as the American Army liberated the camp on the 16th of April 1945. This photo shows a full-sized replica of the glider which was built by Southdown Aviation Ltd at Lasham Airfield to support the Channel 4 documentary on the Colditz Cock which was first screened on 13th August 2012. It was used to sort out problems/solutions during the building of a flying replica in the Colditz attics. Never flown, its sister was launched under radio control on 17th Mar 2012 from the roof of Colditz Castle and crashed in the originally intended landing field next the river Mulde.

The display sign mis-spells the type as Whitman and gives a date of 1976. The FAA Register lists it as a Whittman DFA with a certificate issued in 1946. The original was built in 1931

In September, 1910 the Peruvian pilot Geo Chavez became the first pilot to fly across the alps. He accomplished this feat in a Bleriot XI, although unfortunately he crashed upon reaching Domodossola due to wing failure and died three days afterwards. Nevertheless, his monumental achievement was marked by the commissioning of this replica 100 years later.

This is one of the unfinished fuselages that were in production when the 328Jet program was cancelled. At least this one had been allocated a cn, there are a few others that have since been scattered over northern Italy

A6M5 on display at the Yushukan at Yasukuni Shrine. This Zero was recovered from Rabaul in 1974. It was made by Mistubishi in Nagoya and carries its spinner. The wings and fuselage are from S/No. 4240, and other parts are from No. 4241. It wears the code of the 281st Kokutai, formed at Maizuru on 20 Feb 1943 with 48 Zero fighters. The unit was sent to Paramushir in the Kurile Islands in 1943. It was transferred to Roi Is. in Dec. 1943 where it was decimated, all personnel being killed as naval infantry.

This Vampire was previously J-1119 with the Swiss AF and after decomissioning became F-AZHJ with the Association Varoise Des Avions de Collection. It is now part of Volandia as a representative of the Aeronautica Militare's first jet fighter, of which they flew a grand total of some 214 frames.

The IIC was standard production Mystère for the AdlA, with 150 delivered from June 1954. This example is on display at this super museum.

This Mirage is one amongst many in this long display row of different versions. The Mirage F1C was the production interceptor version for the AdlA.

This Hoplite was registered to ZEUS/Heliseco as SP-SDZ in February 1979 and flew with the company until January 1997, after which it was wfu. It was sold in March 1999 to the hydro-electric company that runs Solina dam. It is now preserved, along with SP-SAN, in the (non-publicly accessible) car park of the company. This photo was taken from atop the dam, the largest in Poland, the construction of which was completed in 1960.
