Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport was built as a child of the Cold War. Construction began in December 1951 and was completed by June 1952. The field was granted to Canada and became a military base, RCAF Station Baden-Soellingen, later renamed CFB Baden-Söllingen, from 1953 until 1994. This Starfighter memorial is in Söllingen, a village close to the airfield and commemorates the Canadians' stay in the region.

This 134 was initailly delivered to the East German AF in July 1971. It flew initially with Interflug colours but later flew for just over a year with the military serial '182', before joining the mainline fleet of Interflug in May 1977. The plane was retired in September 1989 and made its last flight in January 1990 to Lahr (LHA), prior to preservation outside this aerospace precision tooling company.

This An-2 was first reported in June 1973 as an An-2R, SP-WLS. The frame became SP-AOG in May 1995 and was (at some point) converted to an An-2TP before being cancelled from the Polish register in October 2004. By that time it had already arrived in EDTS and is now part of this interesting museum.
