I was surprised to find from my records just now that I was lucky enough to photograph 14 different Iraqi Il-76s at LHR during the Eighties. This must have been one of the last to visit, most being during the Iran-Iraq war which ended in 1988

'Superb' by name, superb by nature. Delivered to Northwest as N129US in 12.59 and later N777DP, PT-DZK, N8LG and N360Q; leased by TPI to ABC in 6.89 and was the only Electra ever to carry these full colours - painted shortly before this photo and boy didn't she look smart. Reverted to N360Q with JBQ in 12.92 and later leased to Hunting and Channel Express. Bought by Air Spray in 1.03 as C-GYVI, wfu at Red Deer by late 2007 and stripped of all useful parts

Canadian Airlines regional partner Inter-Canadian introduced the first ATR 42 into Canada in 1988. In 1990, Inter-Canadian cancelled their code share agreement and became Intair. The business plan failed and Canadian re-purchased the airline to resurrect Inter-Canadian. This ATR, delivered October 26, 1988, was sold to Cimber Air in November 1997 (OY-CIU). It's current with Danish Air Transport at the time of uploading.

Delivered to the US Army June 1959 as 58-1715, Otter number 333 was struck off strength December 1976. Registered to the Civil Air Patrol's Pacific Region as N5352G until January 1980, it was refurbished in Canada as C-GBNJ and flown by Parsons Airways for the next nine years. It was sold to Ketchem Air Service as N567KA (note non-standard hyphen) and here in Vancouver for servicing. Flying in Alaska with several airlines re-registered as N336AK, it receiving a Texas Turbine conversion in 2003.

Undoubtedly a star visitor for Heathrow, here on a rare governmental mission... delivered 6.84 and returned to Russia by 9.91 becoming RA-86931 after a couple of years in store at DME; last noted wfu at Khabarovsk in the mid-Nineties
