Canadian Airlines regional partner Inter-Canadian introduced the first ATR 42 into Canada in 1988. In 1990, Inter-Canadian cancelled their code share agreement and became Intair. The business plan failed and Canadian re-purchased the airline to resurrect Inter-Canadian. This ATR, delivered October 26, 1988, was sold to Cimber Air in November 1997 (OY-CIU).
