from my collection, photograph most probably taken by Willi Blunt, aircraft delivered in 1946 to Northwest Orient Airlines as N6402, to Trak Airways as ZS-CIH in 1958, operated for Luxair between late 1961 until mid-1964 as LX-SAH, rergd. as EI-ANL by Universal Trading and lsd. to Shannon Air, in service for Aer Turas and Alitalia between 1966 and 1969 as EI-APK, rergd. N6304D for ATC Inc. Reno and operated for an Oil Company in Libya until wfu in February 1977 on Malta, b/u there by 1984

A blackbird was unperturbed by a person nearby when it used a propeller for a perch during a break from its spring nest-building. VH-PKD, a cropduster, was sold in New Zealand as ZK-PKD in March 1979.

XD653 was delivered to the RAN in 1953. In 1965 it was flown to the Navy's apprentice training school HMAS Nirimba at Schofields to be used as a training aid. It was later moved to the Naval Aviation Museum at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, New South Wales.

Operated by Associated Airlines, which was the corporate aircraft division of the group of mining companies. VH-ASJ arrived in 1960 and flew with the airline for 23 years. It was sold in the US.

Carried the American media during the visit to Australia of President Lyndon B Johnson.
