The second of two PL-11s, this one was sometimes known as the Waitomo Airtruck. Designed by Italian-Australian Luigi Pellarini, it used T-6 Harvard components including the R-1340 engine and canopy. Both crashed, -CKE on March 1, 1967 at Maungakaramea. A lack of available T-6 parts saw Pellarini redesign it as a smaller aircraft, the PL-12, which went into series production in Australia as the Transavia Airtruk. Bob Kerr photo.

Crashed near Tottenham, NSW, on November 24, 1969. A propeller blade snapped off while in flight. The resulting imbalance tore the engine from its mount but it failed to detach from the wing. The drag from the engine hanging down put VH-BJC into a fatal flat spin. The blade had failed due to corrosion
