In April/May 1960, VH-SSX was converted to an EP-9C with an Armstrong-Siddeley Cheetah radial, of which there were an abundance from war surplus Oxfords and Ansons. SSX was damaged in a grass fire, at Keith, South Australia, on April 11, 1967. The fire had been sparked by a hot car exhaust. Photo by: Neil Follett

Seen outside BOAC's hangar at Heathrow with the UK registration taped on, RRAF-161 was delivered to the Royal Rhodesian Air Force's 3 Sqd on 18 February 1960. The RRAF was the air force of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (today's Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe). The Canadairs, as they were known locally, formed part or the Federation's commitment to the British forces in the Middle East. When the Federation was dissolved in 1963, the three Argonauts were sold to civilian operators. Photographer unknown

French derivative of the Siebel Si 204, the NC-701 was powered by 590 hp Renault 12S engines. SNCAC (Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Centre), commonly known as Aérocentre, produced 240 NC.701 Martinet just after the end of WW2. Most of them were used by French Air force and also Navy as utility and trainer aircraft. This one was assigned to Fighter Squadron "Languedoc" (EC 2/8).
