There were two Q.6s allocated VH-ABL - Q.25 and Q.34. Neither was taken up. Q.25 had fixed gear initially. Retractable u/c later fitted but an accident five days after the first flight saw fixed gear refitted. It may have had test serial X-1 at this time. Q.34 was built with retractable undercarriage and according to historian Geoff Goodall, was test flown painted as VH-ABL. It would be delivered to the RAF as P5638. Ex X9407, G-AFFD. Used for many years at Redhill by Chelsea College for engineering training. It is now (2024) under restoration to flying condition in military marks. (The Prince in the background is F-BJAI. Whatever happened to it?)

The prototype Q6, first flown at Luton on 14th September 1937 and scrapped at Cranfield in 1962.

One of two purchased by the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport to be flown by Lithuanian Airlines (Lietuvos Oro Linijos). After Soviet occupation the aircraft was used by Aeroflot.

The Q.6 was the first twin engine aircraft developed by Percival with a production of 26. It was fitted with DH Gypsy Six engines and flown with 2 crew and 4 passengers. This aircraft was one of four fitted with a retractable undercarriage. [The correct type description is Percival Q.6 with the designation P.16 being a post-war invention. Impressed April 1940 as X9407. Having been withdrawn from use in May 1959 has been a restoration project attempted for over 50 years. Last known at Seething (2009) via Redhill, Duxford, Isle of Man and Fenland

Bought in 1939, VH-ABY was used by the Civil Aviation Board (CAB) for testing radio ranges. It was disposed of in 1946 as unsuitable for the intended task. -ABY crashed near Wee Jasper on August 26, 1947 killing the pilot and his passenger. Photo from John Harrison.

The prototype Q-6 built in January 1938. Impressed as X9328. Sold postwar and owned by Fairey test pilot Alington 1948 to 1951. Parked outside Fairey's 1937-built hangar at Ringway, still wearing traces of camouflage at right. Withdrawn 1959.

Built for the Royal Air Force in 1939 as P5637, serving as a communications aircraft. Sold in 1946, beocoming G-AHOM. Operated by Ductile Steels as an executive aircraft from June 1948 until August 1953. Shiny black overall and named "Ductility". Dismantled in 1961.
