In a Soviet Air Force c/s, in maintenance at Reno-Steadfield. This is former Polish Air Force serial 1416. The aircraft was sold to the USA and became N416JM in March 1987 with the War Eagles Air Museum, Santa Teresa Airport/Dona Ana County Airport, El Paso (NM). In March 2014 sold to an unknown private owner in El Paso (TX). On 27 October 2016 the USA civil registration was cancelled and the Lim was exported to Russia in 2017. Since, the database lost track on it.

Most probably this is former Polish Air Force serial 917 which is preserved since 1999 at Birmingham (AL) since 1999. That Lim-2 was a former stored aircraft at AMARC (1993). The fuselage is here seen at Reno-Steadfield in 1989. Some other likewise Lim-2 were used by the Defense Test & Evaluation Agency, Kirtland AFB (NM) before they went into storage. Is anyone able to confirm this?

Serial 271 is a Aero Vodochody built CS-102/MiG-15UTI of Polish AF. Delivered '54, converted SBLim-2, reserialled 2271. To Evergreen Ventures as N271JM in '88. 11 Apr'88 rr to NX271JM as MiG-15UTI, but kept N271JM. Planned for use with the Defense Test & Evaluation Agency, Kirtland AFB (NM). Was used in the 1988 movie "Steal the Sky" in this Iraqi AF c/s. On 6 Nov'96 crashlanded at Fallon MAP (NV) in a soft dirt field, 200 ft short of threshold. Restored and preserved at Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum (OR). Restored for flight but canx in '11. Aug'13 to Defense Antiquities Museum, Ft.Meyers

This Lim-2 was used in this Iraqi Air Force colourscheme in the 1988 movie Steel the Sky. Unfortunately, it was fully unmarked. It possibly belonged to a shipment of fourteen former Polish Air Force Lim-2's that went thru the UK in 1986 to the USA, being serials 271, 638, 640, 817, 822, 1013, 1016, 1120, 1205, 1416, 1606, 1614, 1621, 1629. Anyone able to confirm its identity?

In Jun'87 Classics, American Avn, Reno acquired it and they repainted it in Soviet AF c/s. Used in 1988 movie Steel the Sky in Iraq AF c/s. Mar'88: rr to NX822JM MiG-15UTI, kept N822JM with the Defense Test & Evaluation Agency, Kirtland AFB (NM) up to '89. Stored AMARC by '92, to USAF museum Dayton (OH), loaned to Pima (AZ), repainted North Korean AF c/s. Oct'97: to private owner but remained at Pima.

This aircraft was designed by Bruce Boland and financed by John Sandberg. It made its first flight 17-Aug-1986. It was powerd by a 2400hp Rolls Royce V-1650-7 Merlin engine. The manufacturer was listed in the US register as Aviation Engineering and Development Associates. The aircraft crashed 25-Sep-1991 while landing at Pierre-Muncipal, SD, because one of the flaps did not come out correctly. Unfortunately John Sandberg was killed. This CH-54A was assigned to 1165th TptCo of the Nevada Army National Guard from Reno Steadfield (NV). The Skycrane served the US ARMY up to 1992. It was preserved at Kenosha (WI) from September 1997. It was moved to Russell (IL) after the museum was closed by October 2007.

When pictured at Reno Steadfield, this Tarhe served the 1165th TptCo of the Nevada Army NAtional Guard. The Tarhe became N4099L after its storage period at AMARC. The helicopter was sold to Erickson and was converted to S-64E. In 2006, it became HL9443 with Sallim-cheong, the Korean Forestry Service as FP202.

The helicopter was sold to Erickson and was converted to S-64F. It was leased to Korean Forest Service as FP201 in 2000, returned to Erickson Erickson Air Crane as N4099B in December 2001. It was again leased to Korean Forest Service as FP201. Its registration N4099B was cancelled in January 2002. On 29 November 2007, it became HL9442 with Sallim-cheong, the Korean Forestry Service as FP201.

Former USAF 54-0709. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code CP064 in 1981. Transferred to the US Navy with park code 9C003 in 1984. Sold as N709RR in 1986. Had a number of owners. Used in the filming of Die Hard 2 by 1991 and Con-Air in 1996. Crashed in Alaska in 2010.

Cliff Cummins' Mustang after it ran off the east end of the runway at Reno-Stead. It suffered an engine failure during that year's Air Race and attempted an emergency landing. Its larger propeller (a racing modification) struck the ground and caused the aircraft to run off the runway. The Mustang was rebuilt at Long Beach, CA in 1971.
