Modified to a maritime patrol version. Registered as VH-AUH in 1975 then ZK-NOM in 1981. Destroyed in a fatal crash on Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand in 1993.

The first GAF Nomad production aircraft, first flight 4 October 1974. Damaged beyond repair on the ground at Mazatlan Airport (MZT), Mexico on 26 October 1975, during a hurricane. Operated by the manufacturer Government Aircraft Factories (GAF).

VH-AUH is likely a generic ferry/factory registration and hard to find specific info on. The note with the photo says "from Le Bourget to Copenhagen". Judging from the other VH-AUH photos in the database, it is likely the first production Nomad on a European tour. It was on display on various European air/trade shows, which would also explain the large number "23" on the fuselage. Eventually the aircraft became ZK-NOM. Photo from Harm Reinders.

VH-ELN was the second production Nomad. It was sold in Papua New Guinea as P2-DNO in November 1977.

The camouflage was applied for the 1975 Paris Air Show and a subsequent demonstration tour of Europe. VH-AUH was eventually sold on the civilian market and was exported to New Zealand as ZK-NOM in 1981.
