Hispaniola Airways HI-384HA September 1981, damaged beyond repair less than three months later Miami 12 December 1981 after landing gear failure. Finally scrapped 1987.

Early production (Line #37) Boeing 707 originally delivered to Continental Airlines as N70774 in May 1959. It later served with the Israeli DFAF as 4X-JYA and 4X-JYB. At the time of the photograph it was owned by Charlotte Aircraft, (hence the CA registration suffix), having been leased to Sky Safari Travel Club. In August 1981 it was sold to Hispaniola Airlines as HI-384, later HI-384HA, and was damaged beyond repair in an undercarriage collapse landing at Miami on 16th December1981 and lingered on there as derelict until it was broken up in 1987.

What a shame it was such a dull day when this rare aircraft departed.

Delivered new to CO, and purchased from them by TW. Seen about to depart on 28L at CMH. Later became 4X-JYE with the IAF.
