Sitting on the West Pads this afternoon preparing for departure, is this Kalitta Air 747 which diverted in the wee hours of the morning due to weather in Anchorage.

Delivered to Avianca as HK-2300 in 1979. Reregistered as HK-2980X in 1983 and EI-CEO in 1992. To Tower Air in 1995. Reregistered as N621FF in 1997. To Polar Air Cargo as N924FT in 2000, UPS as N527UP in 2001 and back to Polar Air Cargo as N924FT in 2003. To Kalitta Air as N701CK in 2004. Withdrawn from use as Oscoda, MI in 2012 and scrapped.

Ex Japan Airlines JA8101, registered 4th Aug 1992 and withdrawn from use KOSC (Oscoda) Dec 1996. Re-registered N40467 29th Aug 2003 but never operated as such, just to make the old registration available again for another aircraft. Scrapped some time in 2006

Delivered to JAL as JA8101 in 1970. To American International Airlines as N701CK and converted to a freighter in 1992. Withdrawn from use at Oscoda, MI in 1996. Later scrapped.

Just over a year later, on 5th October, 2012, it was retired and stored.
