Interswede took her for three months (as SE-DCR) in 11.71; she returned to that part of the world with Karair in 6.72. Bangladesh's national carrier normally used B707s on their flights into Amsterdam, but after a 707 belly-landed at Singapore in April 1980, they were one aircraft short. An Aer Lingus 707 was leased for 6 months, followed by this very nice DC-8, leased from Cargolux in November 1980. It flew into AMS regularly until the summer of 1981.

5Y-BAS pictured during its take-off from runway 01L. Only two ASA aircraft ever carried the striking zebra stripes on the upper fuselage, and this is one of them. ASA purchased this beauty from KLM in 1976 (ex PH-DCN), and later sold it to Seychelles International as S7-SIA. It was broken up at Brussels during 1987.
