When ARCA received its first two DC-8s in 1976, bought from Alitalia, they kept the green cheatline to minimise repainting, only changing the fin marks and nose. This became ARCA's livery - this DC-8 was ex-CP Air, no history with Alitalia.

A poor quality slide I found of this frame with its American reg. It was ex Aero Peru OB-R-1084 and VIASA YV-C-VIC prior to that. Acquired by TAC in Jun 1977 (i.e. the previous month). Re-reg G-BFHW in Mar 1978. Transfered to British Cargo Airlines Aug 1979. To LAC Colombia in Jun 80 as HK-2380X. Damaged beyond repair when it ran off the runway in heavy rain at Barranquilla (Colombia) 18 Sep 1984. Total time reported as 47762 hours.

Ex HK-2632X, registered March 1998. Operated by Transportes Charter do Brasil (TCB). Withdrawn from use SBGR Dec 1999 and scrapped Nov 2004

Bangladesh's national carrier normally used B707s on their flights into Amsterdam, but after a 707 belly-landed at Singapore in April 1980, they were one aircraft short. An Aer Lingus 707 was leased for 6 months, followed by this very nice DC-8, leased from Cargolux in November 1980. It flew into AMS regularly until the summer of 1981.
