The former ZK-NZA of Air New Zealand was bought by Evergreen in 1.77 and leased to low-cost operator Northeastern for a year from 3.82. This carrier was founded in 1980 and flew from the NE US to Florida, California and Las Vegas till collapsing after acquiring A300s in 1985. The DC-8 was wfu at Marana in 2.84 and broken up

TEAL (Tasman Empire Air Lines) became Air New Zealand concurrently with the arrival of the DC-8s. Initially, the aircraft carried both names.
