As a child I used to have the pleasure of flying occasionally in BEA/BA Viscounts between Heathrow and Inverness and I remember well what a super view there was from those huge windows. Note also the squarish door on the 800-series aircraft as opposed so a more rounded door on the earlier series.

This Viscount began her European career with Lufhansa as D-ANAD in 1.59 and joined BMA as G-BAPD in 2.72. Skyline bought her in 9.75 but she returned to BMA in 10.77. By 9.78 she was wfu at EMA, being broken up in 1.79

A couple of years before my visit this Viscount was nicely restored to its original Lufthansa livery, but until recently remained unfinished without titles and registration. An email to the museum asking about this didn't bring a response. However, a big improvement on the previous false BAF-style colour scheme. Apparently serious corrosion was found in the lower fuselage because an animal had been living in there!
