Preserved unmarked in basic British Air Ferries colours. Delivered to Lufthansa as D-ANAM in 1959. Withdrawn from use at Hamburg in 1970. Preserved at Hermeskeil from 1976. Later repainted back into Lufthansa colours.

On display at the wonderful Hermeskeil museum. As a child I used to have the pleasure of flying occasionally in BEA/BA Viscounts between Heathrow and Inverness and I remember well what a super view there was from those huge windows. Note also the squarish door on the 800-series aircraft as opposed so a more rounded door on the earlier series.

A couple of years before my visit this Viscount was nicely restored to its original Lufthansa livery, but until recently remained unfinished without titles and registration. An email to the museum asking about this didn't bring a response. However, a big improvement on the previous false BAF-style colour scheme. Apparently serious corrosion was found in the lower fuselage because an animal had been living in there!
