First registered in Colombia as HK1856 in 1976 with Villavicencio based Lineas Aereas La Urraca. Bought by Aeronorte in 1980 and impounded by the authorities in 1986. Reactivated by Aeronorte in 1991 and later flew for a short while with Lineas Aereas Suramericanas titles before being sold to Transoceanica de Aviacion in December 1993. Written off in a landing accident at Puerto Inirida in January 1994.

July/45: TOS USAAF. 1948: Transferred to private owners and served in civilian charter service. 1950: Continental Charters Inc, with c/r N1685M. 30 Nov 54: TOS USAF and placed in storage. 1957: WFU. By May/71: 82nd Airborne Division Museum, Ft. Bragg.

Ca.late 1944 or early 1945: TOS USAAF. 18 September 1947: TOS USAF. Ca.late 1950s or early 1960s: 605th Air Commando Squadron/24th Composite Wing, Howard AFB, Panama. 17 May 68: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ for storage. 20 Mar 72: Flown to the Air Force Museum, where it was restored to represent a C-46 flying the "Hump" during 1944.

16 Nov '44: TOS USAAF. 1949: Air Force Reserve; used for crew proficiency training. 1950: Sent to Japan, and throughout the Korean War it operated out of Japan and Korea. 1955: TOS Japanese Air Self Defense Force with s/n 51-1121. By February/69 to after November/77: JASDF Flight Check Squadron. 1980: Alaska Rental and Sales with c/r N5579Z. During the next few years Alaska Rental and Sales swapped this plane for a C-118 through the Air Force Museum Loan Program, and on 11 October 1986 a dedication ceremony was held for this plane at the Air Command Park, Hurlburt Field, FL, where it remains on display.

May/45: TOS USAAF with s/n 43-47350. 6 Jun 45: Transferred to the Chinese Nationalist government. November/49: Purchased by Gen. Claire L. Chennault and Whiting Willauer; registered N8364C. December/49: Activated with Civil Air Transport (Nationalist Chinese airline). January/53: Civil Air Transport Southeast Asia; operated by the CIA. July/55: L.B. Smith Aircraft Corporation with c/r N1382N. October/55: Zantop Air Transport, Detroit Metro Airport. April/60: Re-registered as N611Z. March/68: Aviation Associates, GA. August/68: RALCO, Inc. October/73: Roger Wilcox. November/75 to October/89: Six owners. 2 October 89: National Naval Aviation Museum.

After repairs involving a gear collapse in September '91, the aircraft was ferried back to Bogota. While descending, the airplane flew into the side of a hill (photographer not known)
