Lufthansa is undertaking the mother of all aircraft restorations in a hangar at Auburn-Lewiston Airport. Maurice Roundy's former Starliner has been stripped down to bare bones, with inspection and repair currently underway. No defect is too small to repair and the final product will be as close to the way she came out of the factory in 1957 as humanly possible. Restoration continues in 2017.

After being stripped of parts for the rebuild of 48-610 "Columbine II" in 1990, the aircraft was parked at Ryan Field for many years until finally being scrapped in January 2002. It was purchased by the Planes of Fame Museum in 1994 and completely restored. Acquired by Lewis Air Legends and flown to Chino, CA in January 2016. Lewis plans on putting the aircraft on the airshow circuit after completion of a comprehensive restoration at Chino.
