Peterson's Performance Plus inc's Kenai conversion traces it's history back to the Wren 460. Todd Peterson acquired the Wren type certificate in 1970 and continued Wren 460 production. Newer models were introduced without the complicated double slotted full span flaps and wing spoilers starting in 1986 with the 260SE/STOL; the Kenai became available in 2014. This model blends a 300 HP ContinentalIO-0470 engine and canards with a stock Cessna 182 wing and landing gear. The shark mouth and painted machine guns were added by the owner.

While Golden West Airlines leased an early SD-330 from Short Brothers for a couple of months in 1977, the airline owned and operated four others. These were acquired by the US Army after the carrier ceased flying and the aircraft were stored at Moline IL in 1984. N331GW was delivered in August 1977 to become C-23 Sherpa 85-25343 with the Army. Retired in 1992, it was stored at Naval Air Engineering Station (NAES) Lakehurst, New Jersey. The aircraft moved to the Millville Army Airfield Museum circa 1998.
