Result of overweight landing after being unable to spray or jettison load. On landing the left main gear scissor broke and aircraft swung right and off the runway ending up on it's nose. The internal spray tanks broke loose and pushed the flight deck bulkhead up to the central pedestal I believe.

Built as for the USAAF as C-46F 44-78565. Sold to Slick Airways as N67939 in 1948, Connor Airlines as N1837M in 1950 and Wien Alaska in 1955. Bought by Carl Everts in 1968 and moved Canada in 1973 as CF-FNC, initially with with Reindeer Air Services and later with Ken Borek, Lambair, Ilford Riverton Airways and Northland Air Manitoba. Returned to Alaska as N1837M with Everts Air Fuel in 1990 and stored before restoration to fly in 1992. Crashed and sustained substantial damage in 2013 but such is the value of the C-46 to Everts that the aircraft was rebuilt to fly again by early 2017.

Built as 44-78741 for the USAAF, bought by Flying Tiger Line in September 1950 as N67995 and exported to Colombia a HK-751 on sale to Aerocondor in December 1959. Later operated by Aerosure, Aviacion Colombia (AVIACO) and TALA before being seized by the Colombian authorities in 1988. Stored at Bogota for several years before being purchased by ADES in 1996. remained stored and scrapped in 2004.

On very short final over Eastwoodbury Lane for Runway 06. Built in January 1944 for US Navy as R5C-1 39526. Delivered to Transair Sweden on 30th April 1958. To Tor-Air in July 1965 and then Fairline Sweden in November 1966. Sold as 9Q-CRP to Anstalt Wigmo in Leopoldville in December 1967 and delivered to Congo 23rd January 1968.

Ex 44-78605. Sold to China National Aviation in 1946 and subsequently operated by several freight operators in the US before sale to Bolivia in 1976. Operated by Transportes Aereos Bolivar until 1983 when it was withdrawn and stored as seen here, before being bought and put back into service by Camba Transportes Aereos in 1996. Withdrawn again in 2000 before being bought by North East Bolivian Airways (NEBA). Sadly, the aircraft was destroyed in a crash at Santa Cruz Viru-Viru (VVI/SLVR) on 21 April 2012 while returning to make an emergency landing having just departed on a flight to Cobija

Ex 44-78645 and N1913M with Riddle Airlines and Zantop before export to Colombia in March 1966, joining Aerocondor as HK-400. It stayed in Colombia operating with Taxi Aero Opita, Aerolineas Medellin, SADELCA and Intercontinental before joining Aerosol in 1987. Crashed at La Colonia during an emergency landing en-route Mitú to Villavicencio in August 1993.

Recently returned from three years of famine relief work in Kenya and here still making money for someone 50+ years after it was built. It was registered to Commando Aviation at this time then later transferred to First Nations Transportation and finally Sasco, all the while based at Gimili (CYGM). In 2010 the certificate of registration was cancelled with the aircraft parked at Gimli.

Reg cancelled in 2010. This Commando has sat for a long time at Gimil and its surprising it has not yet found a new owner. Apparently there was some interest in Alaska.
