Owned by Hawkins and Powers for many years. Bought by the Hagerstown Aviation Museum and flown from Greybull, WY to her new home in Hagerstown, Maryland 12-15 October 2006. On display at the museum in 2018.

Long time resident of Alaska was disassembled and shipped to Hawkins and Powers headquarters in Greybull, Wyoming to possibly provide parts for their airworthy C-82.

Built for USAAF as 44-23027. Later sold, fitted with auxiliary jet, and here wears "leased to Americana" titles.

Ferried from Greybull, WY to Hagerstown, MD in October 2006, this Fairchild veteran was recently joined by C-119G N8093. Remnants of her TWA stripes still remain visible!

Nosing for interesting angles I came eye to eye with these guys. I immediately remembered the two Packet sections in Anchorage in 1994. The Boxcar nose next to them turns out to be what's left of the very C-119 that kept them company in ANC. On the left is C-82A N8009E (10071) and on the right C-119L N90267 (257). [Velvia 50]

Still wearing her Interior Airways titles, this aircraft was disassembled and transported to Greybull from Anchorage in the mid 1990s.

This aircraft was the last airworthy C-82 in the world when I took this photo in 2003. A few years later it was flown to Hagerstown, Maryland, where it is on display at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum. Barely visible on the side of the aircraft are the TWA stripes it sported in the 1950's when it ferried spare engines around Europe.

This still has the fictional Arabco Oil Co. logo on the nose, from its use in the movie "The Flight of the Phoenix" (1965).

At the time this rare Packet (delivered to the USAF in 1948 as 45-57814) was used by Northern Pacific Transport to haul cargo (mainly fish) all through Alaska. It flew with TWA from 1956 to 1972, and the remnants of their livery are still visible on the fin and fuselage. Also visible are faded "Briles" titles, from its time with Briles Wing & Helicopter during the mid 1970s. In 1992 it was sold and flown to Greybull, WY, where it survived as the world's only flying Packet. In 2006 the Hagerstown Aviation Museum bought it, and the delivery flight to the museum on 15 October 2006 was the last ever flight of a Fairchild C-82 Packet worldwide.

One of 224 Packets built for the USAF (as 44-23033), of which about half were offered to the civil market from 1954, some undergoing Jet-Pak conversion by Steward-Davies with the addition of a J34 jet on top of the fuselage. Without this, the aircraft's engine-out performance was virtually zero. This one was not converted and was last registered to New Frontier Airlift Corp in Feb 1962, although still in USAF marks when seen here. Wreck noted during 2001 at Davis-Monthan in the yard of National Aircraft, Kolb Rd.
