Built for the USAAF as 44-74311. To the RCAF as 9577 in 1947. Sold in 1956. Stored in a barn on a farm at Bartlesville, OK for over 20 years. Registered as C-GPSI in 1985 then N151KM in 1998. First flew after restoration two months before this photo was taken.

Delivered to the USAAF as 44-74908. To the RCAF as 9273 in 1951. Sold as N1070Z in 1959 and stored at Winnipeg. Rebuilt to flying condition in 1963. Reregistered as N965D in 1969 and N151BP in 1980. To the Palm Springs Air Museum in 1997 and maintained in airworthy condition.

A special guest for Aircraft Maintenance Netherlands (AMN), who held a fly-in on this day in honor of their 10th anniversary as a company.

This beautifully presented Mustang made its first post-restoration flight on 26 Sep 2020 and has a widely-travelled history. After delivery to the USAAF as 44-72059, it was acquired by the Swedish Air Force in 1945. Ten years later, it was sold to Nicaragua and eventually salvaged in the US in 1963. It found its way back to Latin America for service with the Bolivian Air Force from 1966 which whom it remained until 1995. Repatriated to the US again, restoration was began in 2002 and not completed till 2020, impressively finished to represent an P-51 of 424 (City of Hamilton) Sqdn RCAF. The aircraft is privately-owned by Hannu Halminen.

This P-51D served with the RCAF between 1950 and 1956 (as 9245) before sale to the US. It then flew with the Israeli Air Force between 1959-1964 before returning to the US. It's been flown as a warbird since the mid-1960s in the USA and Europe (1991-2022) carrying the registrations N7098V, NL7098V, D-FTSI, N7098V and D-FTSI). In April 2022 it was registered to Dorssers USA Inc, Colcord, OK as N551TF (the second P-51D to carry this registration). It was flown by Canadian pilot Mackenzie Cline at Airshow London 2022.

"Old Crow" P-51D departing Wittman Field on an early morning flight off 18R. Fake serial, is actually ex 44-74474.

P-51D 45-11553 was declared surplus in 1947 and was snapped up to become N5415V. Racing at Reno from the early '60s, the aircraft carried registrations of N713DW, N22DC, N51T, N51TZ, N5415V, N51GP, N713DW, N22DC, N51T, N51TZ, N5415V, N51GP and N51VF. With several re-builds over the years and a major conversion in 1993 adding a rear seat and dual controls, the fighter wears the markings of Major Don Gentile's Shangrila.
