Aircraft ran out of fuel and made an emergency landing in a field near Grande Prairie airport, AB on 29 June 2000. Collided with a ditch adjacent to a road, slid across the road and came to rest in another ditch on the opposite side. The #1 engine was torn off and burst in flames. The wreck was dismantled and trucked back to Red Deer for spares use. Fuselage first noticed at Red Deer in this condition in 2002.

One of 13 A-26 aircraft stored at Red Deer after being retired from airtanker duties last in 2004. A 14th aircraft was in the hangar being readied for a new owner in Australia.

"Miss Murphy" was parked on the Commemorative Air Force ramp.

During my visit to Red Deer in September 2005, 13 recently retired A-26 firebomber aircraft were parked on the ramp and were for sale for $100,000 each.

Long Beach built A-26 Invader ex USAAF 41-39427.

Ex USAAF A-26B 43-22357 built by Douglas at Tulsa, later converted to A-26C. Operated by Conair as part of their spraying and fire fighting operation.

Ex 44-34713. Converted from A-26 Invader to On Mark Marketeer executive prop during the mid 1960's.

Some A-26 Invaders were converted to executive transports after WWII. Looking rather unconvincing as a warbird, this one resides in Greece since 1995.

This A-26 was acquired from the Eagles Air Museum (part of the Bonanzaville Museum and Historic Village) in Fargo, ND by the AMC Museum in Aug 2008 for restoration and placed on display soon after. Most sources incorrectly quote the aircraft as c/n 28802 ex N3428G (ex USAAF 44-35523), due to a mistake by the Eagles Air Museum in Fargo. This is why it is also falsely painted as such. Its true identity however is 44-35552 c/n 28831 ex N5544V. It's
