Buffalo Airways DC-4 N55CW departed Keystone Heights Airport in Florida on April 27, 2022 for the Western Sky Aviation Warbird Museum in St. George, Utah, where it is on static display. Departing shortly after 12:00 noon, the aircraft arrived five hours later in Fredericksburg, Texas for an overnight stop. In what will probably be the aircraft's final flight, it departed Fredericksburg late the next afternoon and arrived at St. George Regional Airport four hours later. The veteran flight crew consisted of pilot Bob Steenbock, co-pilot Mike Stallman and flight mechanic Frank Moss.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-54D 43-17246 then transferred to the US Navy as R5D-3 56544 in 1945. Redesignated as a C-54Q in 1962. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code 3C097 in 1971. Sold as N67018 in 1975 and used by a number of operators. Last flight to Fairbanks in 1999 and used for parts by Brooks Fuel. Still there in 2021.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-54D 43-17222 then transferred to the US Navy as R5D-3 56536 in 1945. Redesignated as a C-54Q in 1962. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code 3C098 in 1971. Sold as N96448 in 1975 then to Enzo Air as RP-C325 in 1989. Withdrawn from use at Manila in 1993. Still there in 2006. Probably scrapped.

Sold to Biegert Aviation as N44904 in 1975 and fitted with spray bars. Sold to Brooks Fuel for parts in 2004. Still at Chandler-Gila River Memorial in 2022 in derelict condition.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-54D 42-72636 then transferred to the US Navy as R5D-3 56514 in 1945. Redesignated as a C-54Q in 1962. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code 3C013 in 1965. Sold as N67062 in 1975. To Central Air Service in 1976 and converted to a fire bomber. Last flight to March ARB, CA in 2002 for preservation.

Sold as N62433 in 1975 and used by a number of operators. Sadly it was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew at Miami on 24/08/92 and was scrapped.

To the Aerospace Museum of California, McClellan, CA in 1990 for restoration and preservation.

Deconverted from a firebomber in 1990 and painted in USAAF colours by 1992. To Aero Flite as N3054V in 2001 then to Brooks Fuel in 2007 and Alaska Air Fuel in 2013. Sadly, this aircraft, with its two crew, was lost in a crash immediately after take-off from Fairbanks, Alaska on 23 April 2024. By then, it was the last DC-4 flying commercially in the USA.
