These were taken at NAS Sunnyvale (which later became NAS Moffett Field) in June 1932 and show a day when the public was allowed in to see the dirigible. Tail section preserved sticking out of a former hangar at this closed airfield; the hangar now serves as a garage for a private residence. My thanks to the owner for allowing me to take pictures. A partial dataplate on the tail reveals that this was once N6209R. The aircraft was written off in an accident while towing a banner over North Myrtle Beach on May 23, 1992, while operated by the Aerial Sign Company of South Carolina.

Clarence Wissler's 1922 WA-6 biplane, making its public debut at the Logan County History Center. The aircraft was acquired in 2006, and underwent a lengthy and very thorough restoration to its former glory. An excellent representative of the many small local manufacturers that sprung up during aviation's golden age. A few days later, the aircraft would be raised to a permanent display suspended from the ceiling of the museum.
