This Dash 8-300 was delivered new to Air Ontario in April 1991. After the merger of Air Canada and Canadian Airlines, in 2001, AC consolidated its regional airlines and Halifax-based Jazz was born. Later, when AC ran into financial troubles it sold Jazz to investors. In March 2021, AC and Jazz revised their capacity purchase agreement as a result of Covid-19. Major changes included Jazz taking over 25 E175s from Skyregional, continuing to fly 39 78-seat Dash 8-400s and retiring all 19 of its DHC-8-300s, including C-FMDW. Most of the retired Jazz Dash 8-100/300s are now stored in North Bay, ON.

The prototype Bombardier Dash 8-400 is seen landing on runway 15 at Downsview Airport, Toronto. The aircraft made its first flight on January 31, 1998 (the end of the Bombardier fiscal year) wearing the registration C-FJJA which is a tribute to de Havilland Canada flight test Jackson "Jock" Aitken who died suddenly a few months earlier. The aircraft first flew in green primer paint and then blue and white Q400 markings until receiving this colour scheme. The aircraft was based at the Bombardier Flight Test Center in Wichita until Bombardier sold DHC in June 2019 and C-FJJA returned to Canada.

Delivered to Flybe in July 2011, it never entered service with them, It became ZS-YBX with South African Express Airways

This Dash 8-402 was delivered to Jazz Aviation LP in May 2012 and now wears the latest Air Canada Express colour scheme. It was photographed through the glass from the second floor airside observation area at Vancouver International Airport.
