The former I-DEMU had only just been acquired by ONA when shot and it seems they hadn't had time to paint it yet - not too often you see an airliner in passenger service wearing nothing more than primer! New off the line to ONA as "Holidayliner Freedom" a year before this photo, this DC-10 was short-lived as she was destroyed by fire after striking a flock of seagulls and overrunning runway 13R at JFK on 12 November 1975 while positioning to Jeddah with 139 ONA employees on board (all escaped safely).

Bought from National Airlines in 1968 and converted to a freighter. Sold to Zantop in 1974.

ONA's "Flagship Contender" taxies out for return to the USA whilst operating a trans-atlantic "affinity group charter". The aircraft served ONA from 07.66 until sale to Martinair as PH-MAU in 10.69.

New to ONA 10.67 and sold on to Evergreen in 10.76, this convertible freighter has been with Airborne Express since late 1981, becoming N905AX. Taken from my hotel during a visit to the USAFM
