This CF-104 is in fact 104790 and served with 439 Sqn, 1 Canadian Air Group at CFB Baden-Soellingen, Germany. It is displayed as 104756 Museum in it's 1976 NATO Tiger Meet colours.

Whilst this photo is well below expected standards, it is offered out of interest as it now clear that the Canadian Kingfisher programme to replace the SAR Buffalos faces serious problems with shortfalls in performance delaying further deliveries. Weight increases have led to the CC-295 being underpowered. This example was flight testing last summer and still sits awaiting its fate next to 295516. Meantime, CC-130Hs are being used in a stop-gap role. Rather like the USN NC-37 I've just uploaded, it's one of those frustrating southward views where the sun never reaches that side of the subject.

A common visitor in the eighties was the CF-104. German based Canadian Starfighters used Leeuwarden for gun practise camp.

A stretched Herc visited Eindhoven air base after a logistic flight to Poland on sunday afternoon, with near last light. 130606 was delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force on 21 February 2010. It was assigned to 436sq "Elephants" at CFB Trenton (Ont.). The badge with the squadrons Elephant can be seen just near the entrance door on the forward fuselage.
