During 1959 and 1960 PZL-Mielec built 129 MiG-17PF as Lim-5Ps, which were fitted with RP-1 radars, but by the late 1960s these were no longer combat capable as interceptor fighters. In 1971 some were converted to attack aircraft by installing additional weapon provisions and replacing the radar with a battery. These aircraft were designated Lim-6M and the reconnaisance version was the Lim-6MR. This example of the latter is pictured at this super museum.

The Tu-2 matured with this S model, propelled by powerful ASh-82FN radial engines. Built in 1947, this aircraft is said to have spent two years in Soviet service, before joining the Polish air force with serial 5. Among its variety of tasks was being an ejection seat test bed, for which it was modified in 1956. The museum received it in 1964 and has it on display with the rear cockpit restored as the gunner's place, but without markings.

The Junak 3 was essentially the tricycle landing gear version of the taildragging model 2. Known for its stability, it was widely used as a trainer with the military and flying clubs. The Kraków aeroclub last used this 1955 airframe as SP-BPL in 1964.

Of the three museum Yak-18s, this is the only one with a military background. It was built in 1954 and delivered to the Oficerska Szkoła Lotnicza nr 4 at Dęblin in June 1955. In late 1960 it became SP-BRI with the Kraków aeroclub (where the other two have flown as well) and in 1972 it was given to the museum. Repainted as shown in 2005.

Operated by LOT as SP-LDA for a few months mid-1965 and returned to the air force as 027. Said to have been the last airworthy Polish Li-2 until 1974. This is the only example built of the Żuraw (Crane), a Polish utility and liaison aircraft that first flew in May 1951 but did not enter production. The lack of a sufficiently powerful engine and the fact that the airframe weight was 160 kg heavier than expected meant performance was poor. The plane was shelved because Poland bought a licence to produce the superior Yak-12 and the Żuraw proved to be the last design by LWD. This prototype was operated for a time by the Instytut Lotnictwa (Institute of Aviation) but withdrawn in 1960 and passed on to the museum in 1963.

Built in 1992 and used for just 10 years. Preserved/stored at Radom, marked for upgrade in 2006 but that was cancelled, and in this museum since 2008. The tanks are on supports rather than attached to the wing, presumably to avoid extra loads on the airframe.

This Fishbed-J was accepted into the Polish AF in April 1974 and went on to fly with various regiments during its service career. One of these was the 10th Fighter Aviation Regiment based at Lask, which it joined in August 1993. In 2000 the plane was painted in this golden scheme to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the regiment's foundation. In January 2003 the plane was retired and stored for three years at Lask before being placed at this wonderful museum.
