Mike Falls' Harvard used to appear more often than it seems to these days, so it was a welcome sight at the RAAF Museum Air Pageant. Built to a USAAC order as AT-6D 41-34382, it went instead to the USN as an SNJ-5B, Bu43647. Sold ex NAS Litchfield Park, AZ, 24 Jul 57 and became N3274G with Growers Aerial Service, Imperial, CA. Several subsequent owners. Acquired by Mike Falls and shipped to Toowoomba, Qld, '89. Based at Essendon, Vic, since 1 Feb 90.

At the end of the RAAF 90th Anniversary Air Pilgrimage, the HARS Cat departed for home, only to return shortly afterwards with a major oil leak. This provoked considerable head-scratching and several phone calls as the engineers tried to solve the problem.

This aircraft is really the former RAAF A68-170, built in 1949. Never actually off RAAF charge, it has been with the RAAF Museum since 1970 and was restored to flying condition during 1989-99. Seen here after a practice session on the day before the RAAF Museum Air Pageant.

The view south across historic Point Cook aerodrome towards the former First World War-vintage seaplane station. In the foreground two of the Roulettes' PC-9s share the apron with Vampire T.11 VH-ZVZ. Point Cook is Australia's oldest operating aerodrome. Situated 25 kilometres south east of Melbourne on Port Phillip Bay, land was first purchased for use as a military aerodrome in early 1913 and the Central Flying School opened here shortly afterwards. Today Point Cook is home to the RAAF Museum, among other units.

This aircraft is actually a composite made from the wings and tail booms of A79-827 and the fuselage pod of A79-616. It was restored at RAAF East Sale in the 1990s for the RAAF Museum. A79-616 was one of 68 Vampire T Mk 35s delivered from 1957 to enable the RAAF pilot's course to include jet training. The Vampire was phased out in 1969. This aircraft is painted in the markings of the 'Telstars' aerobatic team from the Central Flying School at East Sale.
