Named after the picturesque town of Piran in Slovenia, this PC-9 was a very welcome attendant of the Open Dag Koninklijke Luchtmacht 1997, held at Gilze-Rijen. The aircraft was sold in the USA on the civil market as N69XC.

One of three Royal Thai Air Force PC-9s that can be found with the excellent RTAF museum in Don Mueang is F19-02/34. It can be found at the restoration and storage area.

Happily preserved at Fighter World Williamtown, Australian assembled Pilatus PC-9A A23-020 was equipped for the FAC role. And is seen wearing its 4 Squadron markings it wore up until retirement.

Registered as HB-HQE then to the Royal Air Force as ZG969 in 1989. Operated by BAE Systems and used for comparison testing with the T-6B Texan II. Withdrawn from use at Warton by 2016.

Retired with the rest of the PC-9A fleet A23-061 was sold to local warbird operator Doug Hamilton who commissioned the aircrafts return to flight and operation. Flown at the Steve Bekker, whom put on a wonderful display at the 2025 Tocumwal Airshow.

An old friend from Europe, former Slovenian armed forces PC-9 L9-53, now in use as a privately owned aircraft in the USA. Its Slovenian lineage is still clearly visible, despite the American markings.

The Iraqi AF was among the first customer of the PC-9 and ordered 20 airframes around 1986, with deliveries starting in 1987. The assigned construction numbers were 144 through 163, while the serials were 5801 through 5820. The airframe pictured here in this stunning three tone camo taxies out from the Pilatus factory for a pre-delivery testflight. Already carrying the external fuel tanks needed for the ferry flight, it became 5818 / ٥٨١٨ in Iraqi service. Fate is not exactly known but it was probably rather short lived, as most Iraqi AF assets were destroyed during the 1st Gulf War in 1991.
