After a long and illustrious career, this Convairliner ended her career as a fire trainer. Delivered new to SAS 13 June 1956, she served on European and Scandinavian routes for the tri-national airline until November 1976 when she was sold to Botswana Desert Airways and the registration 3D-AAC was applied, but not taken up. She was then sold to Nor-Fly as LN-MAP where she remained until 1983 and withdrawn from use at Fornebu where she ended as a fire trainer. Here seen during being doused with water during a exercise. During 1998 she was moved to Oslo's new international airport at Gardermoen

The first CL44 built for the civil market. Used by Canadair for tests and demonstrations following its first flight on 16 November 1960, built as a CL-44D4-1. Delivered to Loftleidir as TF-LLH in May1965. Converted to CL-44J late 1966. Photographed at Fornebu summer 1971 by my friend Jan Olav Martinsen, who have given me the privilige of uploading his photos. 2.December 1971 sold to Cargolux, and converted to freighter. 12.May 1979 EI-BGO Aer Turas. The first CL44 built for the civil market. Used by Canadair for tests and demonstrations following its first flight on 16 November 1960, built as a CL-44D4-1. Delivered to Loftleidir as TF-LLH in May1965. Converted to CL-44J late 1966. Photographed at Fornebu summer 1971 by my friend Jan Olav Martinsen, who have given me the privilige of uploading his photos. 2.December 1971 sold to Cargolux, and converted to freighter. 12.May 1979 EI-BGO Aer Turas. Wfu January 1986 at Dublin and broken up in June 1986.

The first Lufthansa scheduled flight to Fornebu was on 5 November 1966. From time onwards, Lufthansa operated a weekly Saturday CV-440 flight from Hamburg via Gothenburg to Fornebu, and the first arrival was photographed on a rainy opening day. First flight was in 1957, and delivered new to LH as D-ACEX on 18 September 1957. On 31 June 1968 it was sold to Air Algerie as 7T-VAY, and converted to a CV-640 with RR Dart 542 turbo prop engines. April 1982 N849TA for Atlas Aircraft Corp, and a month later to C-GQCY for High Line Airways. To Norcanair in 1988, operated for TimeAir unitl withdrawn from use in March 1993.

Leased to SAS as G-ATPL "Arnold Viking" from 4 August 1967 to 1 March 1968 as SAS first DC-9 deliveries were delayed. Flew for EGT until WFU 6 November 1968. Then to Dan-Air 14 October 1969 until 1990, going to Ladeco as CC-CYI on 17 December 1990. WFU November 1994 and stored at Santiago. Broken up for spares in 2000. Dan-Air started to fly to FBU from Newcastle three times a week in May 1985, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and this was an ice cold Friday. DC-9s LN-RLK and OY-KGA seen behind.
