The Egyptian Air Force was the only export customer for Hispano's Saeta, which was largely designed by Willy Messerschmitt. As many as 65 HA-200s were built under licence from Spain in Egypt during the 1960s. This one has been repainted from a grey livery which included the serial, now not applied.

Egypt operated a large number of Il-14s from 1955 onwards, up to as many as 70, the last serving until the early 1990s. This one is a star exhibit in the museum but is falsely marked as ١١٠١ (1101), which was shot down by an Israeli Meteor NF.13 over the Mediterranean in October 1956 during the Suez Crisis. It is thought in fact to be 1105.

Inside the hangar at Fantasy of Flight. The Nardi FN.305 was designed as a trainer and liaison aircraft, first flying on 19 Feb 1935 with an inline engine. The main production variant was a two-seater, with single-seat variants also produced. The FN.305 was used by Italy, France, Hungary, Romania, Chile and the Luftwaffe. The long-range FN.305D was powered by a 200 hp Walter Bora engine, one of which was used to set a record between Rome and Addis Ababa in March 1939, covering 4463.8 km at an average speed of 240 km/h. This aircraft served Regia Aeronautica as MM380 before civilian use.

Originally delivered to Royal Jordanian as JY-AGD in 1982 and to American Trans Air as N163AT in 1998, it operated till withdrawn ten years later. From September 1979 Egypt started to receive the first of 35 ex-USAF F-4Es for operation by the 222nd Fighter Regiment here at Cairo West. They were found to be a challenge to operate and maintain, being far more complex than the MiG-21s to which they were accustomed. However by 1885 serviceability had improved considerably and a further seven were obtained in 1988. They were replaced by F-16s and withdrawn during the 1990s. This aircraft was formerly 67-0373 and now guards the gate of the airbase.
