Former Czechoslovak AF 9308 was transferred to the Slovak Air Force when armed forces of Czechoslovakia ceased to exist on 31 December 1992. At that moment all aircraft of the Czechoslovak Air Force were divided between the Czech Air Force and the Slovak Air Force. The eighteen MiG-29s then in service were divided 1:1 between the new countries. So this MiG went together with eight others to the Slovak Air Force and continued with serial 9308. 9308 was stored at Sliac from August 2008 and reported as preserved at Piestany from August 2013.

The Czech air force operated the MiG-29 only briefly. In 1994 the aircraft were put into storage.
