Welcome visitor to Hato for some counternarcotics operations in June 2013.

A Convair 340 for United Airlines as N73129 Mainliner Toledo in March 1953. To Frontier Airlines in 1962, the aircraft was converted to a CV580 in 1964. Acquired by Gem State Airlines (N117GS) in 1979, merged with local carrier Air Pacific to form Golden Gate Airlines (N73129) in 1980 only to shut down in 1981. Next with ERA Helicopters / Jet Alaska / Era AViation 1981 - 2003. Bought via Kelowna Flightcraft, Conair converted it to an air tanker, finally retiring in 2021. Stored at Red Deer, AB for Buffalo Airways in August 2021, who bought three Conair CV580s for their engines and propellers.

Deployed for counternarcotics operations to Panama, N147CS makes its way to one of Tocumen's runways.

Former US Navy P-3B 152722 became P-3B AEW&C N147CS with US Customs Service, which was incorporated in the newly formed Department of Homeland Security in 2003. The Orion is seen here devoid of titles, with its US Customs titles overpainted.

Accident at Johannisthal, the old mecca of German aviation. It was alternatively called Adlershof ('eagle's yard') after another adjacent Berlin neighbourhood. DLR were based here between 1919 and 1922 when they moved to Staaken. Before the allocation of D numbers from March 1920, the airline's aeroplanes got a fleet number, still worn here in small print. The aircraft is a LVG C.VI Kabine although the cabin of the converted reconnaissance plane is crushed here. D-14 had another crash near Hamburg on 8 May 1922, but was repaired, and seems to have survived with successor airlines Deutscher Aero Lloyd and DLH until 1928. Photo from: ETH-Bibliothek Zürich

Sold in 1991 then to Everts Air Fuel in 1994 and stored at Fairbanks. Donated to Vietnam Veterans Motor Cycle Club in 2009 and moved to North Pole, AK.

Everts donated the aircraft to the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club in 2009. It was stored disassembled in an overgrown lot during my May 2019 visit to Alaska.

Everts donated the aircraft to the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club and it was moved from Fairbanks Intl Airport to the club's headquarters on Bennett Road in July 2009. It was subsequently moved to a vacant lot in North Pole, AK.

F-ZBBW arrived in France in 1976. As 'Pelican 47' the firebomber made 5064 flying hours before it was withdrawn from use on May 24 1996. The piston engined CL-215 was replaced by its turboprop driven relative, the Canadair CL-415T. F-ZBBW was trucked from its homebase Marseille-Marignane to Bordeaux, where it arrived on 8 February 2005.
