Originally built as USN S2F-1 Tracker BuNo 147559

N15LA pictured here during a training session dropping and picking up rescue swimmers over Castaic Lake north of LA, is the 3rd S-70A Firehawk the LA County FD took on strength in January 2005. The other two are N160LA and N190LA. Two S-70i Firehawks were added in 2018 and registered N821LA and N822LA respectively, bringing the total S-70 LACFD fleet to five. The LA County FD plans to replace the three older S-70A with two new S-70i's in the near future. Registration N15LA was previously assigned to another LAFCD helicopter, a Bell 205A-1.

Now operated by Amicale Alençonnaise des Avions Anciens (A3A), the Alençon-based association best known for its ownership of four Dassault Flamants, this Firecat made its first flight under French civil registration on 10th October 2023. It is ex F-ZBET, originally USN S2F-1 Tracker BuNo 147559

Parked by the roadside in Malibu, CA. Built in 1972. Ex-N14810. Later N3007J, C-GVHQ, N689CC, C-GVHQ, N205SJ, N931CH and N304HA. Current on the register in 2023.

Aircraft sustained fuel management problems (misidentified as a mechanical issue) during a low-level spraying flight out of Sussex, NB and attempted a wheels-up forced landing on McLaughlan Road / Highway 126 north of Moncton, NB, Canada. A wingtip struck a telephone pole and the aircraft swerved off the road into a field, sustaining significant damage. Normally prior to spraying a block there was a radio call for "spray check" at which time a full wing tank was selected and revs increased among other items. Pilot missed this call due to radio malfunction. The fuselage was trucked out the previous day. Pilot was unhurt.

Operated by Butler Aircraft for fire suppression. Originally a B-17G-95-DL, it was later transferred to the US Navy as a PB-1W, serial 77233. After retirement from fire duties it was converted back to bomber configuration and went to the RAF Museum for display.
